Services

At 8am on the 3rd and 4th Sundays of the month there is a traditional service of Holy Communion without music. On the 3rd Sunday this is held at St Michael’s where we use the Common Worship service, and on the 4th Sunday we use the Traditional Book of Common Prayer at the Chapel in Westhumble. Both services last approximately 40 minutes and include a short address. These services provides the opportunity for a more contemplative and quiet start to Sundays.

On the 1st Sunday of each month the main 10am service is for all members of the church as we enjoy a Family Service together. This follows an informal yet structured format, contemporary and fun, using relevant multi-media and lively interaction to create a great environment for learning and growing in our faith.

For the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Sundays at 10am the service is Holy Communion, with a choir and organist. The Priest and the choir wear robes at these services. Following the Common Worship format, this service encourages Christians to hear God’s word with Bible readings and a sermon and receive bread and wine if they wish or a blessing from the Priest.

The 10am service on the 5th Sunday of the month is Morning Worship using the Common Worship format which includes hymns and a sermon and often an interview slot or focus on a particular aspect of our church life.

A carpeted area in church has been lovingly created for children so they can share in our services, with appropriate resources for them to enjoy, and families are warmly welcome at all our services.

At the end of our main 10am service, refreshments are served every Sunday and these are enjoyable times for making new friends and catching up with existing ones!

There is a monthly service held at Westhumble Chapel at 11.30am and this is a traditional service of Morning Prayer with hymns.

We also hold a short, quiet contemplative service of Compline or Night Prayer at 7pm in St Michael’s on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month.

For younger children there is a lovely opportunity to have fun and join in a very short time of worship at our monthly Messy Church on the 3rd Thursday of the month from 3.15pm in Mickleham Village Hall
